The Story of Melinda…
I am an animal lover, first and foremost in my life. I can’t imagine my life without them. I grew up in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, where we always had a horse or two, a dog or four, and a few cattle. I connected most with horses and dogs, and that has followed me throughout my life. I have always had multiple dogs, and spent eleven years in western Canada where I bred cutting horses, owned a sheep farm and lived on a cattle ranch.
As the years have worn on for me, I have become more and more concerned with foreign substances in and on both my body as well as those of my pets. This is a personal choice for me and my furry family, and I have chosen to source naturally and authentically wherever possible.
When we moved back to Nova Scotia in 2015, I was horrified at the amount of ticks that are thriving here, and as the climate shifts, each year is getting worse across Canada. Four years ago a friend told me about EM® Ceramic tick collars. I was completely skeptical, but for the minimal cost (a small fraction of vet treatments or sprays) thought I’d give it a go. To my surprise, and delight, it’s been seven years of flea and tick-free living while everyone around me has been plagued with the little beasts. I used to put the necklace/anklet/bracelet on in mid-March, and take it off once the temperature is consistently below 0˚Celsius. Now that temperatures aren’t staying below zero long enough, I use a second piece about later in the year. So simple!
I began having trouble sourcing the product in a timely fashion, so during the first COVID lock-down, imported the beats myself and began creating Tickware.
It is so rewarding for me to promote a product that I have made with my own hands, believe in wholeheartedly, and that can naturally keep pets and people free of fleas and ticks. No costly monthly treatments, no chemicals or pesticides, no daily sprays, just a cute little accessory for pets and people alike!
